Parker Considering Options

Port Allen athlete Leonard Parker visited Louisiana's Ragin'Cajuns this past weekend for the North Texas game. Parker left Lafayette with a good feeling, but is still looking at all his options.

Leonard Parker has come in to UL on several unofficial visits this season and attended the Cajun Prospect Camp during the summer. Parker likes the Cajun program, but is still considering all of his options right now.

Parker... "Nothing has changed for me; I still like the Cajun program. I've seen the things they are doing, the facilities and athletes are solid. I'm definitely going to take one of my official visits to UL this fall."

Parker talks to Coach Hudson frequently and keeps tabs on the Cajuns every weekend.

Parker… "Coach Hudson has been straight with me all along and they are watching me during the season. They haven't asked for more game video; I think they have enough video on me and know what I can do on the field."

Some coaching staffs see Parker as a defensive back and others look at him as a potential playmaker on the offensive side of the ball. Leonard is playing QB and DB at Port Allen this season.

Parker… "Some coaches have told me they want to see more video of me playing defensive back and others have said that are looking at me as more of an athlete. I think UL is looking at me as more of an athlete, not really committed to any position right now."

Leonard Parkers list of suitors includes Louisiana, ULM, Louisiana Tech and Air Force. More recently another school has kept tabs on Parker and he is now scheduling an unofficial visit to the next home game.

Parker… "I'm scheduled to visit Northwestern State at their home game and I will visit Southeastern Louisiana for one of their home games. LSU has been talking to me and I'm definitely going in for their next home game this month. I haven't been able to schedule dates for Louisiana Tech and ULM, I've been really busy with football. The coach from Air Force called me and we are looking at some dates coming up soon."
