Evan Fortier worked hard this summer to improve his status as a college football prospect, attending camps at LSU, Texas A& M and Northwestern State. The 6'-4, 260 pound Fortier's efforts have already parlayed into two early offers from state schools and interest from several more programs.
Fortier… "I tried to attend as many camps as possible this past summer to improve my technique and workout for the coaches. McNeese State and Northwestern State have both offered after the camps this summer."
Evan has kept in contact with the Cajun coaching staff and decided to come in for an unofficial visit to UL for the home game against North Texas.
Fortier… "Coach Hudson has been in contact with me and asked if I would come in for a game; I had never attended a game at Cajun Field, so it was a great experience. I definitely liked what the program has in facilities and the atmosphere was great at the game."
What has Coach Hudson told Fortier and what level of interest does UL have in him?
Fortier… "Coach Hudson told me that they like me as a lineman and my growth potential. He wanted more film on me, but hasn't come by to pick it yet. If we have to drop off the video, we will do that soon."
Evan hasn't set up any other unofficial visits yet, he has been too focused on football and working at his part-time job on the weekend.
Fortier… "I'm been more focused on getting ready for the Ville Platte game this week to really think about my next visit, but I'm going to try to attend another game in the next few weeks. I also work on the weekends, so that makes it hard for me to really plan anything far in advance."
Evan Fortier is solid academics and has several majors in mind.
Fortier… "I scored a 19 on my first ACT and scheduled the next test in November. My GPA is a 3.0 and I would like to major in Engineering or Physical Therapy."
