Odom Takes In Louisiana Game

Colton Odom has played multiple positions on the Rockledge High offensive line over the last two seasons. His versatility is what has drawn interest from the football staff at Louisiana.

Colton Odom, (6-5, 297 pound) offensive lineman from Rockledge High in Florida attended the Louisiana/ FIU game this past Saturday getting his first look at the Cajun football program. Odom is being recruited by Cajun defensive back Hurley Brown, was anxious to meet the offensive line coach Hudson and watch the line play.

"This was the first time I had the opportunity to watch the Cajuns play," said Odom. "It was great to watch the line work and their blocking schemes to get an idea if I would fit in that system. I also had the opportunity to speak with the offensive line coach Hudson, the guy seems to know a lot about the game."

Colton Odom has played tackle, guard and center over the past few years at Rockledge High.

"I've play tackle and guard last season, but this season I'm playing some center," stated Colton. "This year, coach needed me to play center to help out the line and it has helped me become more versatile in playing different positions on the line. We are 5 and 3 on the season, and pushing for a playoff position this week against a very good team."

On the recruiting front, Odom is working on setting up an official visit to Louisiana this month.

"I haven't set an official date yet to go up there," Colton said. "But they want me to come in on an official visit at one of the next two home games later this month. I like the coaches and some of the crazy Cajun fans I met at the game; they really support their team on the road. Coach told me that when I come in on an official visit, they will have an offer ready for me."

"What other programs are recruiting Colton Odom hard right now?

"I don't have any other official visits set up yet," stated Odom. "I've been talking to Middle Tennessee, UCF, USF and Louisiana right now. Those are the schools that have the most interest in me right now."

Colton Odom's academics are not in question, he has qualified.

"I scored a 19 on my first ACT test," said Colton. "In my core courses, I have a 3.0 GPA this year. I plan on taking the ACT at least one more time this year."

The Cajun Redzone will have more on Colton Odom when he comes in on an official visit.
