Hollingsworth Takes In Game

University High quarterback Blake Hollingsworth is one of Louisiana's top seniors at the position in the 2010 class. Hollingsworth traveled to Lafayette for homecoming and visited the Ragin'Cajuns for the first time.

Blake Hollingsworth took time out of his afternoon of preparation for University High's playoff game against Farmerville Tuesday afternoon to speak with the Cajun Redzone about his visit to Louisiana for homecoming weekend.

Comments on his visit…
"That was the first time I've visited UL," Blake said. "I liked the indoor practice facility, locker room and the weight room; the quality of the facilities surprised me. Most of the things I had heard about the program and the facilities were not exactly accurate."

On discussions with the staff…
"We talked about the opportunities at the quarterback position," stated Hollingsworth. "They had another athlete committed early on, but he decided to commit to another program and now they are not sure if they will offer another quarterback."

Would he consider another position…?
"I haven't really thought about playing another position," said Blake. "If there was a serious offer on the table, I certainly would consider trying another position. Arkansas State has talked some about me playing another position."

Interest from other programs…
"Arkansas State and Southeastern Louisiana has shown the most interest in me," Hollingsworth stated. "Coach Harris has stayed with me after my visit to ASU earlier this season. Coach Williams at Southeastern has also talked to me a lot about their program."

Current academic status…
"I made a 19 on the ACT the first time I took the test," Blake said. "I've scheduled another ACT test this month and my core GPA is a 2.9. I'd like to improve my test score on the ACT, to go along with my GPA.
