The Big East bowl picture came into clear focus Saturday.

UConn, by virtue of its 19-16 win over South Florida, locked up the league's automatic BCS bid and is expected to play Big 12 champ Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl. BCS matchups will be announced formally on Sunday.

West Virginia, the Big East's only ranked team and league co-champion, is expected to head to Orlando for the Champs Sports Bowl vs. North Carolina State Dec. 28 on ESPN.

Notre Dame, which finished the season 7-5 after beating USC last week, likely will play Miami in the Sun Bowl Dec. 31 in El Paso.

Louisville, bowl-eligible for the first time in three years, seems destined for the Beef O' Brady's Bowl vs. Southern Miss Dec. 21 in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Cardinals finished 6-6 in Charlie Strong's first season. UofL is expected to make a formal bowl announcement on Sunday.

Syracuse has already accepted an invitation to play in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl Dec. 30 and will face Kansas State in the first bowl game in New York since 1962.

South Florida and Pittsburgh, who also claimed a share of the Big East title with a win over Cincinnati Saturday, will either head to the Meineke Car Care Bowl vs. Clemson on Dec. 31, or the BBVA Compass Bowl in Birmingham Jan. 8 vs. an SEC opponent.
