Smith receives early enrollment 'feedback'

DaMarcus Smith, one of Charlie Strong's top recruits, updated on the feedback he received Tuesday about his chances of enrolling at the University of Louisville this semester.

DaMarcus Smith still hopes to enroll at Louisville this semester, but the three-star quarterback told Tuesday that he's less optimistic about his chances than he was last week.

Smith, who graduated early from high school, submitted his academic portfolio to the NCAA Clearinghouse Monday.

Tuesday, Smith told that he's received feedback from UofL's admissions office, and that feedback has him preparing for a later enrollment at Louisville.

"It doesn't look good," Smith said about the chances of enrolling early at Louisville.

Smith said he should know for sure about his situation "by the end of this week."

Smith said if he can't enroll early at UofL, he'll re-take two classes to boost his overall GPA.

Smith, who received an 18 ACT score on his latest try, said he has a qualifying test score and would enroll at Louisville in May if he can't get in this semester.
