UPDATE: Hurricanes leading for Johnson?

The Miami Hurricanes are targeting one more offensive lineman in their class and they hosted their top target, OG Kaleb Johnson, this weekend. CanesTime.com caught up with Johnson after his visit for an update on his recruitment.

Kaleb Johnson holds a Miami offer and some thought he may pull the trigger and commit to Miami this weekend, but the offensive lineman has other plans.

"I didn't commit yet," Johnson said after his visit."

Despite not committing, Johnson was very impressed with his visit to Miami and took in the scenery.

"It was beautiful. I was like ‘wow'."

"We came in on Friday and they showed us a little bit of the campus, showed us the training room, did a little physical-type thing, and then went to eat and stuff like that with our host. Saturday morning we woke up spoke with the coaches and with the school president, then we went to go eat at some fancy restaurant."

This visit was Johnson's first opportunity to meet face to face with Hurricanes' head coach Al Golden.

""This was my first time meeting him. He was a cool and down to earth guy. I was just getting to know him a little bit," Johnson said about Golden.

Johnson came into the visit concerned about Miami not having an offensive line coach. In fact, he explained that he held off committing because the ‘Canes haven't made a hire yet. He spoke with Coach Golden about that.

"Yeah we talked about that. That's kind of the main reason I didn't commit, because they don't have a coach. I'd have to get to know the guy a little bit."

Does he view Miami as his leader now?

"Yeah, I'd say that. Every school has some good things and some bad things."

Johnson is done with his visits and will commit to a school of his choice on National Signing Day. North Carolina, Rutgers, Louisville, and Iowa State have also gotten visits.
