Smith won't sign LOI Wednesday

DaMarcus Smith won't sign a letter of intent Wednesday, college football's National Signing Day. Instead Smith, who has narrowed his choices to Louisville and UCF, plans to announce his decision Friday at Seneca High. InsideTheVille.com has the latest.

DaMarcus Smith will announce his college decision Friday at 1:30 at Seneca High.

Charlie Strong's first commit, Smith will choose between Louisville and Central Florida, where he visited late last month. Smith met with Strong after returning from Orlando, and spoke again on the phone with Smith last week.

"I don't know where's he's going," said Seneca coach Louis Dover. "It's down to the two schools. He's been hard to get a hold of the last couple weeks and he's trying to keep everything close to the vest."

"I talked to him a week ago and he was so high and excited about the trip he just took to [UCF] and then two nights later he said, 'Coach, if I had to sign right now I'd sign with Louisville. Then two days later....he's a typical kid."

Smith, an Elite 11 quarterback, completed 50 percent of his passes for 3,105 yards and 30 touchdowns, with just nine INT's in more than 350 pass attempts as a senior.
