King, Fletcher Nab Title

Milwaukee King went 26-0 and won the state championship. Junior point guard DuPree Fletcher went for 15 points – his average – in the title game, a win over Brian Butch and Appleton West.

Fletcher also accounted for 4 assists and 4 steals this year. DePaul and Ohio State both ventured to watch him play this year. "I have a meeting with Ohio State on Friday," Fletcher said. He'll take the ACT for the first time this weekend. "I've got the ACT book in my hands now."

In addition to DePaul and Ohio State, Fletcher is interested in Virginia, Florida and Louisville. So far, none have offered scholarships. "They've all seen me play before but haven't been out to see me at my high school."

Fletcher, known for his scorer's touch and ferocity, has been working on his academics since the start of the year. "I haven't been under a 3.0 all year. I messed up freshman and sophomore year this and this was going to make me or break me."
