Pitino expects to host 2012 stars

Louisville coach Rick Pitino expects to host three of the nation's top juniors next weekend when the No. 16-ranked Cardinals host Pittsburgh. Which 2012 stars are coming to campus? InsideTheVille.com has the scoop.

There should be considerable excitement at the KFC Yum! Center next weekend. Not only does No. 16 Louisville play Big East leader Pittsburgh, but Rick Pitino expects to host three of the nation's top 2012 prospects.

Winston Shepard
Shabazz Muhammad, the No. 1-rated small forward in the Class of 2012; Winston Shepard, a four-star forward from Findlay (NV) Prep, and Top 50 Louisville commitment Negus Webster-Chan are expected to visit Rick Pitino's program this weekend.

"We're working out the details but we're supposed to be visiting, me and Shabazz," Shepard told InsideTheVille.com Sunday afternoon. "Right now we're just working out the flight plans and making sure me and Shabazz can get on the same flight. That's the only thing now."

Muhammad, a high-scoring, 6-foot-6 wing, visited Louisville in November and watched the Cardinals game against Marshall. A five-star prospect, Muhammad holds offers from Louisville, Kentucky, UNC, Duke and UCLA.

Negus Webster-Chan
Shepard, an athletic combo forward with a non-stop motor, recently narrowed his list to 10 schools. Shepard, who is being recruited by Louisville assistant Tim Fuller, includes the Cardinals on his list of favorites.

Webster-Chan, who committed to Louisville in December, will travel to Louisville next weekend with Huntington (WVa.) Prep coach Rob Fulford. Webster –Chan helped lead Huntington to a win Saturday over fellow 2012 Louisville recruit Rodney Purvis. The 6-foot-6 guard/forward had 17 points, 9 rebounds and six assists against Purvis' Raleigh (NC) Upper Room Christian team.
