Junior Prospect: Kevin Jacobs

Kevin Jacobs is a senior to be at Lexington's Bryan Station and his recruiting is heating up. He has all ready made two unofficial visits and has another planned. I spoke with Kevin on Tuesday and discovered that he's hearing from a number of top programs.

One of the top offensive linemen in the Bluegrass State and the region is Kevin Jacobs of Bryan State High School in Lexington.

His 6'6, 300-pound frame is enough to attract attention, but with a move from center to offensive tackle for his senior season will allow Jacobs to showcase his abilities even more.

"I'm really focused on making the move from center to tackle this year," said Jacobs, who has recorded a 5.4-40 speed. "I feel like I've been deprived of showing what I can do by being at center."

Making the move will most likely only make even more programs take notice. However, Louisville, Purdue, Kentucky, Virginia and Michigan State are a few that have all ready noticed his abilities.

Kevin has been busy this spring and he told me that he wants to get out and visit as many places as he can.

"I've all ready made a couple a visits to U of L and UK," Jacobs said. "I'm going to Virginia for junior day. I want to visit as many as I can."

Kevin was quite candid when I asked him about his visits to both Louisville and Kentucky.

"To be honest, U of L impressed me a lot more than UK did," explained Jacobs. "Louisville was nice. I liked the way they were conducting themselves and that they talked to me more individually. I was able to talk to the offensive line coach (Mike Summers) for 30 minutes."

He will also be making a visit to Virginia in the near future.

"I'm real excited about going to visit Virginia," said Jacobs. "About 10 guys from my team are going up there."

Jacobs also told me that he plans on attending camps at Louisville, Virginia and Kentucky. He listed his current favorites are Louisville, Virginia, Purdue and Kentucky.
