Junior Prospect: Dwayne Coy

Dewayne Coy is another talented junior prospect from Lexington's Bryan Station High School. I recently spoke with Dewayne about how his early recruiting process is going.

Last week ITV brought you the profile of offensive lineman Kevin Jacobs of Lexington's Bryan Station High School. Dewayne Coy is another member of what should be one of the biggest lines in the Bluegrass State in 2003 at Bryan Station. Dewayne plays both offensive guard and defensive tackle and is being recruited to possibly play at either spot.

At 6'4, 290-pounds, Dewayne has the size to be effective at either position on the field. His 5.0-40 speed is evidence that he has the quickness to cause problems for opposing players on either side of the ball.

Like many juniors, Dewayne is having a busy spring. He has made two unofficial visits to Kentucky and has trips scheduled to visit both Virginia and Michigan State. He is also planning on camping at both Louisville and Virginia.

When I asked Dewayne about any current favorites, he quickly mentioned both the Cardinals and Wildcats.

"I like both Louisville and Kentucky because they are close to home," said Coy, who was honored as an All-City selection following his junior season. "I'm excited about Virginia and Michigan State too, but I would like to play as close to home as possible."

In addition to Louisville, Kentucky, Virginia and Michigan State, the Michigan Wolverines are also showing interest in Coy.
