This month, the 6'1, 285-pound prospect from Savannah (GA) Christian Prep, has made unofficial visits to check out Vanderbilt and Louisville. Last Friday, Brown and his parents, along with teammate Nardo Govan, made a stop at Louisville to visit Charlie Strong's program.
"It was real nice," Brown said. "I got to sit down and talk to Coach Strong, Coach [Ron] Dugans and Coach [Clintt] Hurtt. I like all the coaches. It was real nice. I liked the facilities. I really enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun.
"[My parents] were really impressed with Coach Strong and all the coaches. We talked to Coach Strong for at least a good hour and they liked how he talked. He's a real humble guy and they liked that about him. They liked everything about [Louisville]."
Before he names favorites and thinks about making a college decision, Brown wants to visit Mississippi State and South Florida. He's planning to check out those two programs late next month.
"I like all of them," Brown said. "I want to visit Mississippi State and South Florida before I name a leader or think about committing. But I really like Vanderbilt and Louisville."
What stood out about Louisville?
"The coaching staff," Brown said. "It felt like family up there. They made me feel like I was at home."
A powerful defensive lineman, Brown is coming off a solid junior season, racking up 90 tackles and 11 sacks. Louisville thinks Brown could make an impact for their defense.
"They're short on nose guards and they said they liked my size and the way I play..how I come off the ball and have real good feet," Brown said. "They said they really need some nose guards and they like me a lot. They want me."
Brown said he hopes to make a college decision this summer.
"I don't want to wait too long to make my decision, but if I need to I will," Brown said. "If a decision comes before football season, I'll make it. If it doesn't I won't. I'm looking for academics. The most important thing is getting a degree. So I'm looking for which schools I feel at home with."
