Football Recruiting Notebook

Two talented prospects from Florida - an athletic 6-6, 275-pound offensive lineman, and a sure-tackling outside linebacker - list Louisville among their short list of favorites. InsideTheVille.com has an update.

Florida LB favors four

Palmetto, Florida linebacker DaQual Randall has four programs high on his list.

"I have a top four; Iowa State, Louisville, Mississippi State and Rutgers," Randall told Scout.com last week. "I don't have a fifth yet, but I may. I want to pick a school by midseason. That way I can go ahead and focus and not get too caught up in the recruiting, and think about a state title."

A two-star prospect, Randall has visited several programs this summer, including South Carolina, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Miami and South Florida. He also has trips set to Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Iowa State.

"I'm looking at the environment, and the coaching staff, and if it feels like home," Randall said. "I want somewhere I can get a fair chance to start. I don't want a coach that shows any favoritism, a coach that is honest and will show me how to survive while I'm up here."

Holden attended camp at Louisville June 18.
As a junior, the 6-0, 230-pound Randall registered 86 tackles and four sacks.

Florida OT down to three schools

Will Holden, a 6-foot-6, 275-pound offensive lineman from Green Cove Springs, Florida, told USFnation.com that he has narrowed his list to Wake Forest, USF and Louisville.

A two-star prospect, Holden, who holds 16 offers, recently attended football camps at Louisville and South Florida. Holden told Scout.com that he hopes to make a college decision before the start of his senior season.

A solid student, Holden carries a 4.29 weighted GPA, and holds a qualifying ACT score.
