Junior Prospect: David Koronkiewicz

Goshen (IN) High School is home to a number of prospects, including David Koronkiewicz. Koronkiewicz is being recruited as both a tight end and as a defensive end.

David Koronkiewicz was the second leading receiver for Goshen (IN) High School as a junior, pulling in 20 receptions for 289-yards and three touchdowns.

However, with his size (6'3, 220), he is not only garnering attention for his ability on the offensive side of the ball, but many college coaches are expressing interest in him as a defensive end.

"A lot of schools are saying that I could play defensive end," said Koronkiewicz, who saw some action as a reserve defensive end last fall.

Koronkiewicz helped guide Goshen HS to an impressive 11-1 record in 2002 and in doing so was named by the Indiana Football Coaches Assocation as an All-State honorable mention selection. He was also named All-District following his junior season.

During our discussion, he informed me that he has all ready made a few road trips to visit Western Michigan, Indiana and Northern Illinois.

"I'm exploring all possibilities," explained Koronkiewicz. "I want to see what is all out there and find the best place for me."

Louisville, Purdue and Akron are also showing interest in Koronkiewicz, who is currently carrying a 3.0 GPA.
