Junior Prospect: Micah Morgan

Over the next few days, ITV will be providing a closer look at a few of the prospects from the Tallahassee, Florida area. The first being Micah Morgan, who plays multiple positions at Leon High School.

Leon High School was one of the schools that Bobby Petrino's new staff turned to during recruiting last year and received a commitment from offensive lineman Danny Barlowe. The Cardinals staff is turning their attention towards Leon once again.

Micah Morgan (5'9, 177) plays wide receiver, running back, defensive back and returns kicks for the Florida 5A power.

A glance at his season statistics from last fall prove that Morgan played all over the field. Offensively, he had 4 receptions for 102-yards and a touchdown and 21 carries for 94-yards and 2 scores. Defensively, recorded 52 total tackles, 16 passes broken up, 2 interceptions and 2 blocked kicks while lined up as a defensive back. He also averaged 22.5-yards per kick return, returning one for a touchdown.

For his efforts, Morgan was named 5A All-State honorable mention.

A main factor for his frequent presence on both sides of the ball is his 4.43-40 speed. However, Morgan informed that he will most likely play defensive back or running back in college.

With speed being a top priority for Coach Petrino, it is no surprise that the Cardinals have all ready made contact.

"I have three schools that are calling me so far," said Morgan. "Louisville, Central Michigan and Iowa State."

Syracuse recently visited Leon High School and briefly visited with Morgan.
