Strong's staff hits recruiting trail

Charlie Strong's coaching staff hit the recruiting trail with full force this week, taking advantage of Louisville's bye-week following the Cardinals big win over rival Kentucky. Louisville went to see a dozen top-flight prospects Friday, including a pair of four-star prospects. has the scoop.

Adam Pankey - A 6'5, 300-pound three-star offensive tackle from Hamilton, OH, Pankey holds offers from Louisville, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, NC State, Illinois and Indiana.

Kevin Houchins - A Louisville commitment, Houchins, a three-star cornerback from Lyndhurst, OH, is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

Anthony Wales - Wales, the top running back prospect in Kentucky, rushed for 230 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-30 overtime loss to St. Xavier. Members of Louisville's coaching staff were in attendance at Central last night.

Four-star linebacker Josh-Harvey Clemons
Josh Harvey-Clemons - A four-star linebacker from Lowdnes, Georgia, Louisville is firmly in the mix for's No. 5 OLB prospect. Harvey-Clemons plans to make official visits to Georgia, Louisville, Florida and LSU.

Dequan Ivery - The 6'1, 305-pound defensive tackle from Lake City, Fla., told last month that he favors Louisville over USF. Ivery is expected to make an official visit to UofL next weekend.

Will Holden - The 6'6, 265-pound two-star tackle from Green Cove Springs, Fla., is considering Louisville, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Hunter Bowles - 6'6, 235-pound tight end from Glasgow recently received offers from Louisville and Kentucky. Will UofL's recent win over the Wildcats sway Bowles Louisville's way?

Mike Roberts - The 6'5, 245-pound tight end from Cleveland made a recent unofficial visit to Louisville and is expected to visit the Cardinal again this season. Roberts told that Louisville was his leader over Cincinnati and others.

Devontre Parnell - A current Louisville commit, Parnell has ACL knee surgery last month. Parnell, a three-star corner from Winnsboro, SC, picked the Cardinals over Kentucky, among others.

Lakeith Walls - A three-star prospect, Walls, 6'3, 200 running back/defensive back from Cleveland, OH, holds offers from Northwestern, NC State, Louisville, Syracuse and Pittsburgh.

Terry Davis - Davis, a three-star offensive guard from Wyoming, OH, committed to NC State last week over finalist Louisville. Davis, who recently made an official visit to NC State, was expected to visit UofL before making his decision. Will Davis visit Louisville officially?

Nick Dawson - The four-star linebacker from Charlotte, Dawson is Louisville's top recruit. Dawson is strongly considering Louisville, Clemson and others. His father lives in Louisville and he has visited UofL several times in recent months. He plans to announce his college choice at the U.S. Army All-American game in January.
