A source told InsideTheVille.com that Blackshear, a McDonald's All-American, has satisfied the NCAA core course requirement and has a qualifying standardized test score. Now, the 6'5 Chicago native awaits approval from the NCAA Clearinghouse.
"He has the core courses and test score," a source familiar with the situation told InsideTheVille.com. "It's a matter of them (NCAA) signing off on it."
Blackshear can't practice with the team until he's cleared by the NCAA.
Multiple sources have expressed optimism that Blackshear will ultimately receive clearance to play.
Blackshear is enrolled in classes at Louisville and attended Friday's Red White scrimmage, sitting behind the bench in his Cardinal warm up attire.
