Louisville opened their Conference USA baseball tournament play with a 5-1 win over 2nd-seeded TCU.

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Louisville scored a pair of runs in the first and added another pair in the third as the Cardinals posted a 5-1 win over No. 2 seed TCU in the opening round of the Conference USA Tournament at Tulane's Turchin Stadium on Wednesday.

TCU pulled a run back in the bottom of the third. Shaff Elkouri started the inning with a walk and advanced to second on a Chris Meeks single. He moved to third when Terry Trofholz grounded out to the pitcher before scoring on Mike Settle's sacrifice fly to center field.

But the Horned Frogs didn't get a runner past second the rest of the way, despite 10 fly outs to center field. Louisville added an insurance run in the ninth. Bolen reached on an error and scored a batter later on Braun's double.
