War Room: Weekend Visitors

Louisville will host one official visitor, a possible SEC commit, and top juniors for Saturday's game at PJCS against Syracuse.

Louisville's lone official visitor this weekend will be Devontre Parnell, athree-star cornerback from Winnsboro, SC.

Parnell, who committed to Louisville over Kentucky this summer, is sitting out his final high school while recovering from knee surgery. An electic playmaker, Parnell is considered one of the Top 10 prospects in South Carolina.

The other big story could be a visit by Ole Miss commit Ike Spearman. A three-star linebacker from St. John, IN, a source told InsideTheVille.com Thursday there's a 50/50 chance Spearman will be in attendance for this weekends game.

As a junior, Spearman recorded 135 tackles, six tackles for loss and two touchdowns. Ranked the No. 83 outside linebacker nationally, Spearman has offers from Louisville, Cincinnati and Vanderbilt.

Several 2012 Louisville commits are expected attend the Syracuse game, including offensive linemen Sid Anvoots, DeAndre Herron and Joe Manley. Kevin Houchins, a defensive back commitment from Cleveland, and Josh Appleby, a punter/kicker commit from Alabama, are both expected visitors.

Top 2012 tight end Mike Roberts from Cleveland Benedictine is also expected to visit. The 6'5, 245-pound Roberts has caught more than 30 pases for more than 600 yards as a senior. He told InsideTheVille.com last month Louisville is at the top of his list.

Louisville will also host several top 2013 prospects, including quarterback commitment Kyle Bolin from Lexington Catholic.

Trinity stars James Quick, Jason Hatcher and Ryan White, 6'6, 310-pound Ballard offensive lineman Joey Bloomfield and Paducah linebacker Jonathan Jackson, are expected to be on the sidelines for the Syracuse game. Quick and Hatcher are two of the top prospects in the country, and are important recruiting targets for Charlie Strong's program.
