UNC commit visiting Louisville

Kedrick Davis, a UNC commit and teammate of four-star linebacker Nick Dawson, plans to visit Louisville this weekend.

Kedrick Davis, a teammate of Louisville target Nick Dawson, will make an official visit to Louisville this weekend.

A North Carolina commit, the three-star wide receiver from Charlotte (NC) Phillip Berry Academy, plans to check out Charlie Strong's program along with Dawson. He also is expected to visit Kentucky soon.

Davis committed to UNC before Butch Davis was fired. The Tar Heels recently replaced interim coach Everett Withers with Southern Miss head coach Larry Fedora.

"I really didn't know who [Fedora] was at first," Davis told InsideCarolina. "But I talked to the players and they told me what type of offense he runs – a spread offense. They said they had a team meeting today. I can't really say anything about him, because I don't know him yet – I haven't met him yet."

A 5'10, 170-pound speedster, Davis broke the North Carolina 2A 100-meter record with a time a 10.47. As a junior, Davis had 38 receptions for 780 yards and 10 touchdowns. Davis also shined as a return specialist, averaging 32 yards on 12 kickoff returns and 55 yards on five punts. Davis had offers from Kentucky, Duke, and Western Michigan, among others.

"It's hard being how [Everett Withers] and I have a close relationship. I look at it like it's just business. But I am going to take other official [visits], though. I'm going to visit Louisville and [Kentucky]. I'm going to Louisville next Friday."
