Florida transfers will visit Louisville

Two talented transfers from Florida will visit Louisville this weekend. Who will Charlie Strong's program host? InsideTheVille.com has the latest.

Gerald Christian and Robert Clark, transfers from Florida, will visit Louisville this weekend. Both players left the Gators program in October seeking more playing time.

"Both of these players have expressed a desire for more playing time and felt that it would be in their best interests to transfer," said Florida coach Will Muschamp. "We wish them both the best of luck and appreciate their contributions to the program."

A 6'3, 245-pound tight end, Christian caught four passes for 72 yards and one touchdown this season. A former four-star prospect, Christian was rated the third-best tight end nationally in 2010 out of Palm Beach, Florida. He has two years eligibility remaining.

"I'm looking for an opportunity to play more," said Christian. "I have no bad feelings about Florida or the coaching staff, I just want to get a fresh start and see the field more."

Clark, who attended the same high school as Christian, Palm Beach Dwyer, was a three-star defensive back coming out of high school. Clark, 5'10, 175, played wide receiver at Florida and made seven receptions for 69 yards and one touchdown in 2010. He didn't have a reception before transferring this season. Clark has two years eligibility remaining.

"I've enjoyed being a part of the Gator program but at the same time I'm excited about future opportunities to play more," said Clark. "I will have nothing but good memories from my time in Gainesville."

Louisville has commitments from a three tight ends, including JUCO transfer Ryan Hubbell. Brandon Snell is the only wide receiver commit for the Cardinals.
