Top JUCO makes official visit to UofL

6'7 Donta Smith officially visited UofL on Monday.

6'7 Donta Smith, who made an unofficial visit to the University of Louisville last week, came back Monday for an official visit.

Smith, a first team NJCAA All-American as a freshman at SE Illinois CC, told ITV Monday night he enjoyed his official visit and really liked Coach Pitino.

"He's a great coach," Smith said of Pitino. "That's a school I definately want to go to."

Smith, who led SE Illinois to the quarterfinals of the NJCAA national tournament in Hutchinson, KS, told ITV that UofL had not made a scholarship offer yet but that he would be back on campus on Tuesday to play in unsupervised pick up games with current and former Cardinals.

Smith said he thinks he can fit in well with Coach Pitino's program and current players because he likes to get up and down the court and run.

Smith, who will be one of the most sought JUCO players in the nation, listed several schools who are pusuing him, including Cincinnati, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Florida State among others.

Smith said he had no leaders at this time.
