"Georgia I feel like I have a chance to play and get in early," Josh Harvey-Clemons said. "And it is my home state that's what the recruiters tell me all the time, ‘why not go to your home state.' There's a lot players from my area and high school that go to UGA, just like Florida State. Louisville, I like head coach Charlie Strong and the whole coaching staff. I feel like their building something strong down there. It's just a little far away. But, the coach always tells me if I got offered to the NFL would I turn it down because it is too far? So, I always keep that in consideration."
Despite being from the state of Georgia, the Bulldogs weren't the team that Harvey-Clemons grew up adoring. What you can find is pictures of Harvey-Clemons as a child running around in a #1 Florida jersey.
"I grew up a Florida fan," Harvey-Clemons said. "We used to play football at the Boys and Girls Club and we each got a college team and my team was always the Gators. So, I grew up liking the Gators. When Florida started recruiting me that's when I really started liking them. I've seen some players from my area go out there and make a big impact. When they first started recruiting me I was like ‘I'm going to Florida.' But, I want to win championships and whatever school I can do that with I want to go with."
The 6'4 207-pound recruit said that another reason he likes Florida is because it is close to home. Harvey-Clemons said he also likes head coach Will Muschamp's system and where the program is headed. Muschamp is the coach that Harvey-Clemons says is calling him the most and Florida is the staff that he says he has the closest relationship with.
Harvey-Clemsons already took an official visit to Florida on Dec. 9th and will be taking official visits to Georgia on January 13th, Florida State January 20th, and Louisville possibly the weekend after.
"I loved it down there (in Florida)," Harvey-Clemons said. "I saw how they were practicing for the bowl game and I saw that I have a chance to play (early). It is just going to come down to when I take my 5th official visit after seeing the other schools. I'm going to look at the depth chart and looking at the way they coach. That's what it is going to come down to because I liked Florida when I went down there. Everything went well I liked the players. I feel like I have a good relationship with them too."
Harvey-Clemons said that he could see himself playing at Florida. The top prospect is very familiar with the campus from basketball tournaments and it being only 1 ½ hour from his home. But, Harvey-Clemons said he won't be making any decisions till he takes all his official visits.
"It's going to be a hard decision," Harvey-Clemons said. "I haven't decided yet. I'm just enjoying it right now. I've only taken one official and that was to Florida, so I'm really going to wait till I finish out my officials before I make up my mind. I will be making up my decision after my official visits."
