7'0 James Davis Picks School

7'0 James Davis of Minneapolis North High School has decided on the school he'll attend next fall.

As confirmed and reported by Chris Monter of TheInsiders.com, 7'0, 285 James Davis of Minneapolis North High School has decided to begin his collegiate basketball career at Garden City (KS) CC next fall.

Davis averaged 14 points, and 14 rebounds in leading North High to the Minnesota Class 4A State Title in March. Davis received looks from several schools, including Iowa, Purdue, Florida State, Minnesota, Fresno State, Clemson and Louisville.

Louisville was quite involved in Davis' recruiting process, as assistant Vince Taylor made several trips to see Davis in action last winter.

Davis will now play for new Garden City Head Coach Ryan Swanson. Swanson, who served as an assistant at Milwuakee-Wisconsin under Bruce Pearl the past two seasons, has strong ties to both the state of Kentucky and the UofL basketball program.

Swanson was the Head Coach at St. Catherine Community College in Springfield, KY and one of his former players, 6'9 Tobiah Hopper, signed with and played for the Cards under former Head Coach Denny Crum.

Davis will join a Garden City program that finished 16-15 overall and 5-11 in the Jayhawk West Conference and is likely a top recruiting for the Cards in the class of 2005.
