Coach unsure about Ivery's status

Louisville's biggest National Signing Day question is whether three-star Lake City (FL) Columbia defensive tackle will stick with his commitment and sign with the Cardinals or switch at the last moment to Miami.

Ivery, one of the top defensive linemen in Florida, committed to Louisville in early December and made an official visit with the Cardinals Jan. 14. But Ivery's status heading into National Signing Day is uncertain after he made an official visit to Miami Jan. 20.

Since that visit, Ivery has gone underground. He's disconnected his phone and hasn't talked to the media. Even Columbia head coach Brian Allen, a former Florida State standout, hasn't spoken much with Ivery the past two weeks and isn't sure which program his standout tackle will sign with on Wednesday.

"I don't really know what's going on with the situation," Allen told on Monday. "I know it's probably going to come down between Louisville and UM. They've both been in here a lot. I know the kid was a strong commitment with Louisville early on."

Louisville assistant Ron Dugans, who played with Allen at Florida State, and Miami assistant Michael Barrow both visited Ivery before the start of this week's dead recruiting period.

"I really have no clue, but I would think he's still solid with Louisville," Allen said. "I don't know why that would have changed. But as far as me talking to (Ivery) I have no clue."
