Dawson signs with Louisville

Louisville already has one four-star 2012 linebacker on campus. Charlie Strong's Cardinals added another on National Signing Day.

Nick Dawson was one of the first players to sign a national letter of intent Wednesday to play for Louisville.

"He signed at 7:01," Berry Academy coach Andrew Howard told InsideTheVille.com.

A four-star linebacker from Charlotte, N.C., Dawson, 6'2, 230, is expected to make an immediate impact for Charlie Strong's defense.

"They recruited him as a middle linebacker," Howard said. "They expect him to come in and be able to play. He's a big body and he can move real well. They've got high hopes for him."

A U.S. Army All-American, Dawson is on track academically to qualify, according to Howard.

"He definitely can make an impact next season," said Howard. "He has the size and strength and should be able to fit in there very well.
