"Louisville and UC [Cincinnati] (standout)," Jones said. "I've been to UC quite a few times and I like how the academics are set up for their players. For Louisville, I'm just waiting to see what they have to offer."
Besides Louisville and Cincinnati, Jones also early offers from Kentucky and Bowling Green. Jones will attend Kentucky's Junior Day this weekend, then travel to Louisville for the Cards Junior Day next weekend. Jones attends the same high school that produced current Louisville starting linebacker Preston Brown.
"It was a surprise, I didn't expect it," Jones said of Louisville's offer. "It's an an honor (to receive the offer) because a fellow graduate from my school is going there now. So I take that into consideration."
Louisville coach Charlie Strong made a stop at Jones school last month and made a strong impression on the promising outside linebacker.
"When i first saw him I assumed he was some type of defensive player cause of the way he was built, the way he shook my hand and talked to me," Jones said. "Louisville seems nice. I can't wait to visit there and learn more about it."
Jones plans to attend the Nike Combine in Massilon, Ohio this spring.
"I'm quick at the snap of the ball and I get to the ball wherever it's at," Jones said. "I have to work on my pass rush."
