Chris Johnson impresses Packers

Former Cardinal and Green Bay Packer rookie Chris Johnson has been performing well in minicamp. Read what Packer GM Mike Sherman has to say about Johnson's performance.

Cornerback Chris Johnson, selected by the Packers with the first pick of the seventh round in the April NFL draft, was among the most impressive of Green Bay's rookies in the team's recent minicamp, coach and GM Mike Sherman said. Johnson lined up at left cornerback with the third team defense. He probably will get a chance to return kickoffs in the preseason because of his speed. Johnson was clocked under 4.2-seconds in the 40-yard dash prior to the draft.

"Late-round draft pick but has come here – not just from the physical standpoint but from the mental standpoint – has picked up things extremely fast," Sherman said. "Has a long way to go. We have a lot of football to play before we make the final evaluations, but he has done a very good job to this point, and has showed some maturity as well. I'm excited to see how he continues to progress."

Johnson injured his hamstring in practice on Tuesday and did not practice Wednesday.
