Strong Talks Spring Practice

Charlie Strong breaks down Louisville's first spring practice Wednesday evening in this video interview with InsideTheVille.com.

Charlie Strong Opening Statement
"It's just good to get back out here. You think about that last bowl game and it didn't go in our favor so you like to get everybody out here and throw the ball around and the defense break on the ball. They've been through the off-season and now they have a chance to work on technique."

Strong on spring goals
"We have a lot coming back but we have to understand we still have a long ways to go in this program. It's all about fundamentals and technique. And it's all about guys trying to get better each day. A lot is going to be written and said about this football team, but we still have a long ways to go with this football team."

Strong on Teddy Bridgewater
"Teddy wants to get better and he knows how hard he has to work."

Strong on the team's depth
"A year ago at this time we didn't have the numbers we have right now. We have a lot of numbers out here right now which is good. We can really practice and do a lot of things that you like to do. Still, you can't let complacency set in even though we had a good year last year."

Strong on team strengths
"You just look at the number of guys coming back on both sides of the ball. Defensively, we return 10 starters. Offensively, eight starters. Even though we lost (Chris) Philpott we return a lot of guys in the kicking game."

Strong on Kamal Hogan's move to defensive back
"We're just looking at him because we have so many running backs. You've got a good athlete and you'd like to find a place for him and we need some depth in the secondary. We took and moved him to safety."
