Terry Rozier, a future Louisville guard, arrived in town Wednesday for Friday's Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic.
A four-star prospect, Rozier met with local media before practicing with his squad. During practice, the 6'2 Rozier went against Semaj Christon, a five-star Xavier recruit who is rated the No. 2 point guard nationally by Scout.com.
Though there wasn't much to evaluate, the two did briefly square off during five on five action toward the end of practice. Rozier freed himself from Christon and drained a step back three from the left wing. Later, Rozier beat Christon back door. Showing off his athleticism, Rozier snagged a rebound over the out-stretched arms of 7'0 Pitt signee Steven Adams, one of the nation's top center prospects. Rozier showed good quickness, court vision and could become an excellent defender at the next level.
Rozier will participate in the Night of Future Stars, which will feature the dunk and three-point shooting contest and two-on-two, Thursday night at New Albany High School. Friday's Derby Festival Classic will be held at Freedom Hall.
