News Report: Miami & Virginia Tech to ACC

News reports early Wednesday morning indicated that Miami and Virginia Tech have been extended invitations to join the ACC.

News reports from The Washington Post, NY Times and USA Today appeared online early Wednesday morning stating that current Big East members Miami and Virginia Tech were extended invitations to join the ACC.

If the reports hold true and those two schools accept the invitations, the Big East must decide on what program will replace Virginia Tech, as most believe that Louisville is slated to replace the Hurricanes. South Florida, Central Florida and Cincinnati have been the most often mentioned as possible future Big East members.

It is expected that all movement will be announced prior to Monday, June 30th, so that all teams may begin play in their new conferences beginning with the 2004 season.
