Salter Enrolls in New School

6'4 Henry Salter, a high flying member of the class of 2004, has enrolled in a new school in the Louisville area. Salter's father talked to ITV about the decision on Monday shortly after the decision was made.

6'4 Henry Salter from Gulfport, MS enrolled at Fairdale High School yesterday and will play for Lloyd Gardner's Bulldogs next season, Henry's father told ITV on Monday.

Salter led Gulfport High School to the 2002 Mississippi High School State Title and a national ranking as a sophomore. Last season, Salter was named second team All-State by the Clarion Ledger after averaging 23 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game.

Salter is an athletic lefty who finishes well around the basket and was generally considered one of the top 5 juniors in the state of Mississippi.

Salter will give Fairdale one of the top tandems in Metro Louisville next season along with junior forward Maurice Grintner. Salter and Grintner will each rank among ITV's top five Metro Louisville players in our annual preseason player rankings next fall.

Salter has visited UK this spring and has spent several days on the UofL campus playing in unsupervised pick up games with current members of the team.

Salter, who will attend the Adidas ABCD camp in July, is currently back home in Gulfport but will be back in Louisville later this summer, according to his father.
