WR Mario Urrutia
(6'6, 210) of Louisville
Fern Creek gave Kentucky
an early verbal commitment, but he informed InsidetheVille.com on Wednesday that he remains wide open and plans on taking all of his official visits before making a decision on where he'll play.
"I'm open to other schools," explained Urrutia. "Right now my favorites are Nebraska, Kentucky, Louisville, Virginia and Michigan."
All of his favorites, with the exception of Michigan, have offered the talented receiver a scholarship.
Urrutia, who told me he grew up a Louisville fan, also informed me that Miami, Illinois and West Virginia are programs that he will also consider.
Fern Creek participated in U of L's recent 7-on-7 camp, finishing 2-1, with their only loss coming to district rival Louisville Male. Other than participating in that event, Urrutia has not taken any unofficial visits this past spring.
While at the camp, he did have an opportunity to meet the Cardinals Offensive Coordinator and Receivers Coach Paul Petrino.
"He was pretty cool," explained Urrutia of his meeting. "He seems like a great coach."
As a junior he hauled in 65 catches for over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns.
