Georgia WR likes Louisville

Lovejoy (GA) High School receiver Santini Washington recently spoke with ITV and expressed an interest in the Cardinals.

Last week ITV introduced you to Lovejoy (GA) High School lineman Anthony Parker. Today we introduce you to one of his teammates, Santini Washington. While visiting with both Parker and Washington, it became quite clear that Louisville running backs coach Joel Thomas, who is responsible for recruiting that area of Georgia, has expressed interest in a number of athletes at Lovejoy. Over the coming days, ITV will also introduce you to fellow Lovejoy teammates Aaron Brown, Kisan Flakes and Keith Boykins.

Washington, like many talented athletes, lines up on both sides of ball, playing both wide receiver and defensive back at Lovejoy. While he enjoys the action that both positions deliver, Washington told ITV that he does prefer playing on offense.

"I really like wide receiver," explained Washington. "I like getting the ball and having the ability to make big plays out of every catch. I'm an unselfish and hard-working player, so I'll do whatever it takes."

Louisville's frequent appearances on national television the past two seasons have caught the attention of the 6'0, 165-pound receiver.

"I've watched Louisville a lot on television. They've been on a lot. I remember watching the Florida State game and though FSU was going to win, but [Louisville] looked good in that game."

Louisville, along with current conference rival Memphis, have shown the most interest in Washington so far, but a strong senior season will most likely draw the attention of a number of regional programs. Washington informed ITV that while coaches, including Louisville, visited his school during May, that he has yet to receive any scholarship offers and that he doesn't currently have a list of favorites.

"I'm wide open right now," said Washington, a good student, who is currently carrying a 3.8 GPA. "I like Louisville a lot, but I want to see what other schools I hear from. I'll look at the schools academics programs and the tradition of the team when I start taking visits. I'm just looking for a good place to play really."
