Ohio linebacker has offer from Cardinals

Linebacker Anton Narinskiy is one of the top defensive prospects in Ohio and he has received a scholarship offer from the Cardinals.

Linebacker Anton Narinskiy of Kenston High School in Chagrin Falls, Ohio is one of the top defensive players in Northern Ohio and receiving the type of attention you'd expect to see associated with a player of his caliber.

Narinskiy, who was born in Russia and is also an excellent wrestler, recorded 110 tackles, including 12 for a loss, in only nine games as a junior. He also made two interceptions. Following the season he was named 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-Northeast Ohio.

By growing up in Ohio, Narinskiy quickly became of fan of the home state Buckeyes, but says that won't effect his decision when it comes time to choose a program.

"I don't think it will. Probably not really. I want to find a place with good academics, a good football program and a great atmosphere around the campus."

In addition to Ohio State, Narinskiy is receiving interest from the remainder of the Big Ten, as well as a number of Big East, Conference USA and MAC programs.

Offers have started to pour in for the 6'3, 220-pound linebacker. Anton informed me on Wednesday evening that he has had scholarships extended by Louisville, Iowa, Northwestern, Boston College, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Akron and Bowling Green.

When asked if Louisville was among his favorites, Narinskiy replied, "I'm really wide open, but they're up there. I want to visit there this summer, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to."

An excellent student who currently has a 4.2 GPA, Narinskiy scored a 1230 on his first SAT attempt.
