"I heard I got the offer [Thursday] but it wasn't confirmed until today," Bluiett told InsideTheVille.com. "[Louisville] texted me…my coach told me yesterday, then my dad told me [about the offer] that it was confirmed today. Coach Pitino told me that he appreciated me coming for the visit and that if I came there I would have a home and he would make me better every day."
Bluiett was impressed with Louisville during his unofficial visit, in which he toured campus, saw the Cardinals downtown arena and watched Pitino conduct summer workouts.
"It was a good campus," Bluiett said. "We visited the campus, watched them practice and then afterwards we went to visit the KFC Yum Center. I liked a lot of things, especially the way they practiced. They practiced with intensity and they hold their pride with their defensive energy. There wasn't one thing that I disliked [about Louisville]."
The 6-6, 190-pound forward from Indianapolis Park Tudor said he was blown away by the KFC Yum Center.
"It's unreal," Bluiett said. "I've never seen a gym like that. It was really impressive, especially the view right next to the bridge."
Louisville assistant Kareem Richardson developed a relationship with Bluiett while at Xavier and continued to recruit Scout.com Top 100 prospect after he joined Pitino's coaching staff this spring.
"[Richardson] told me that Coach Pitino gives the players a lot of freedom to make plays and that I could be one of those players to impact the game," Bluiett said. "He said I was one of their type players and would fit their style of play."
Bluiett is an AAU teammate of Jaquan Lyle, one of Louisville top 2014 recruiting targets. "I'm sure we'll talk about Louisville in July," Bluiett said.
Besides Louisville, Bluiett also holds offers from Indiana, Purdue, Xavier, Kansas State, Virginia, Illinois, Notre Dame, Florida and Butler. Bluiett says he has visited all those schools except KSU, Florida and Virginia.
"I'm nowhere near making a decision yet," said Bluiett. "I'll probably make a decision next year around this time. After July we'll start narrowing schools down. The relationship with the coaches and how they interact with their players is an important factor. And academics will be a big part of that so I have a degree to fall back on."
Bluiett said he will visit Michigan on Monday.
