Alabama RB has Louisville among favorites

Running back Michael Hobbs of Straughn High School in Andalusia, AL is both a great athlete and student. He informed Scott Kennedy of TheInsidersRecruiting.com that the Cardinals are among his favorites.

Michael Hobbs was one of the most productive running backs in the state of Alabama last season. As a junior at Straughn High School in Andalusia, AL Hobbs rushed for 1,547 yards and 16 touchdowns on 238 carries. He also had 18 catches for 193 yards and 1 touchdown.

"I've been to camps at Auburn, UCF, and Alabama so far this summer," said Hobbs. "I'm supposed to be going to UAB and Southern Miss this summer too. My favorite teams right now are probably Louisville and Auburn. I grew up an Auburn fan, and Louisville is recruiting me the hardest. I want to be a pre-med major, and I think Louisville may be the best fit for me. I also like Alabama #3. Those are my main teams, and if I had to name 5, the other two would probably be UCF, and Southern Miss."

Hobbs is serious about his education as well as his football. He is a 3.8 Student that scored a 23 on his ACT on his first attempt. He is the Honor's Club President as well as a leader on the football field. Hobbs has played baseball until his junior year. He said he didn't play this past season so that he can concentrate solely on football. That's bad news for Straughn opponents this season.

Hobbs has not gotten any formal offers yet, but it's only a matter of time because of his tremendous mix of athletic ability, character, and academic achievement.
