Terry Rozier headed to prep school

The University of Louisville basketball program has been waiting on word about the eligibility status of freshman Terry Rozier. The news is now official and Rozier is headed to prep school.

It's official; Terry Rozier is headed to prep school.

The Shaker Heights, Ohio, point guard who signed with the University of Louisville last fall didn't make it academically to play as a freshman.

The 6-foot-1 Rozier is headed to Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va., and will now become a member of the Class of 2013.

"I'm still committed to Louisville," Rozier said. "But I talked to coach P and I think this is the best thing for me. I'll be able to spend a year getting better and am still excited about coming to Louisville."

Ranked as the No. 68 player in the country by Scout.com, Rozier picked U of L over Illinois, West Virginia and Cleveland State.

Rozier averaged 18.2 points and 4.5 rebounds as a junior and then 20.2 points and 5.5 rebounds as a senior at Shaker Heights. He was a three-year All Lake Erie League selection and was ranked as the No. 11 point guard by Scout.

At Hargrave, Rozier will join U of L commitment Anton Gill, who is transferring to the school from Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, N.C.
