U of L coach Rick Pitino is expected to start the evaluation period – and spend most of the time – in Orlando, Fla., at the AAU Nationals.
Pitino and assistant coach Kevin Keatts will be there early in the period, watching several prospects including Boo Williams travel team stars Anthony Barber and Troy Williams. The two will play on Wednesday at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
Among the other prospects that Pitino will be watching in Orlando will be top post player target Moses Kingsley with the Arkansas Wings and top junior Theo Pinson, who plays for CP3 All-Stars.
Pitino is also expected to make a stop in Fort Wayne, Ind., this weekend to check on Demetrius Jackson, Jaquan Lyle and Trevon Bluiett, along with other juniors Keita Bates-Diop and Malek Harris, who both play with the Illinois Wolves.
Assistant coaches Wyking Jones and Kareem Richardson will both spend time at three events in Las Vegas, including the adidas Super 64.
Marcus Lee, Karviar Shepherd, Joel Embiid and commitments Quentin Snider and Anton Gill are among the players expected to be competing in Sin City.
Cardinal Authority will have updates all weekend.
