The University of Louisville football team is one week into fall camp but coach Charlie Strong didn't seem too happy on Friday morning.
After two practices on Thursday, the Cardinals finished the eighth practice of the camp Friday morning and Strong termed it "sluggish."
"Guys have to wake up and go to work," Strong said. "It was a little slow today. We had two yesterday but that's still no reason for us . . . we're not good enough where we can miss a day. Each day has to county for us."
Strong said overall he's pleased with the effort he has seen so far in camp, but keeps preaching to his team they need to improve every day.
The Cardinals are picked as preseason favorites in the Big East Conference.
"Guys have to understand they can't come out here and take a day off," Strong said. "They have to understand it's going to be hard and they know that. We try to get enough food in them where they can get enough rest at night.
"We have to go to work every day."
The Cardinals finished the practice with a two-minute drill.
U of L will hit the field again Saturday morning for a 9 a.m. scrimmage. The scrimmage is close to the public and media but Cardinal Authority will be there for any reports after the scrimmage is completed.
