U of L commitment highlights

The University of Louisville has nine football commitments in the Class of 2013 and here's a look at how they fared this week in high school with a few updates on some other local targets towards the end:

Kyle Bolin, QB, Lexington Catholic: In a nationally-televised game, Bolin completed 27 of 40 passes for 269 yards and one touchdown and also ran for a touchdown in a 62-14 loss to Ensworth, Tenn.

Chandler Bridges, OT, Flowery Branch, Ga.: Bridges an Flowery Branch begin the regular-season next weekend.

Corey Cooper, WR, Raleigh, N.C., Millbrook: Cooper's team lost for the second week in a row, dropping a 35-16 decision to Knightdale. There are no stats available for Cooper at this time.

Donel Elam, LB, Orange Park, Fla., Fleming Island: The Golden Eagles opened the season with a 38-14 win over Forrest. No stats available for Elam.

Shamar Johnson, OL, Pensacola, Fla., Pine Forest: Pine Forest begins the regular-season on Friday at Stone Mountain, Ga., Stephenson.

Skylar Lacy, OL, Indianapolis Southport: Lacy helped open holes for running back Christian Perry, who ran for 150 yards and two TDs, as Southport downed Mooresville 44-36.

Jacarthy Mack, DE, Lithonia, Ga., King: Mack's season doesn't start until next Saturday in a game against Stockbridge.

Terrence Ross, S, Apopka, Fla., Wekiva: Ross and Wekiva dropped a 26-21 decision to South Lake. Wekiva will play on Friday against Thornton, Colo., Horizon in Orlando at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Field.

Keith Towbridge, TE, Toledo, Ohio, Central Catholic: Towbridge was used mainly in blocking scheme that opened holes for 404 yards of rushing during a 66-14 beating of Springfield.

Here are a few U of L targets highlights:

James Quick, WR, Trinity (2013): Quick had 10 catches for246 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-23 win over Montgomery Bell. He now has 213 catches for 3,384 yards and 44 touchdowns during his career. He ranks No. 5 in career receiving yards and No. 6 in career receptions in state history.

Drew Barker QB, Conner (2014): Barker threw for 219 yards and two TDs as Conner downed Boone County 31-19.

Devin Hayes, QB, Bowling Green (2014): Hayes completed 12 of 20 passes for 200 yards and three TDs in a 42-20 win over Lafayette.

Nacarius Fant, WR, Bowling Green (2014): Fant had five catches for 107 yards and one TD, ran for 19 yards and had 72 return yards as the Purples downed Lafayette 42-20.

Matthew Elam, OL, John Hardin (2014): Elam helped open holes for an offense that amassed 557 yards and beat West Jessamine 70-27.
