But this time was different.
The 6-foot-4, 170-pound Lyle came to town on Saturday, spent some time on campus and was with 2014 U of L commit Quentin Snider of Louisville Ballard.
"It was real good," Lyle said. "With the visits, I'm just always looking around at the little things to see if I would be comfortable on that campus.
"I had been to Louisville but that was the first time I had really seen a lot of the campus and kind of chilled with some of the players. It was a cool experience."
Lyle said he and Snider, who have become good friends, walked around some of the campus and spent some time with the U of L coaching staff.
"I got to know some of the coaches better," Lyle said. "A lot of schools told me that I was a recruiting priority for them and Louisville is one of them."
Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio State, Michigan State, Purdue, Tennessee, Memphis and Xavier are the schools showing Lyle the most interest. He said his only other visit schedule at this point is Sept. 15 to Kentucky the school's alumni game.
"I am sure I will go to some others, but that's all I know now," he said.
But what Lyle does know is that Louisville is one of the schools high on his list, answering that question with, "Oh yeah."
And Snider has been helping with that process. The two knew each other from the AAU circuit but became more familiar at the Elite 100 and NBA Top 100 camps last spring and summer and have stayed in contact.
"We've become real cool," Lyle said. "We spent a lot of time together. We've built a good relationship. He's real cool."
