TE Nord has drop but then big play

University of Louisville senior tight end Nate Nord, injured most of his career, came up with one of the biggest plays of the day during a 35-7 win over Missouri State on Saturday at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

Nate Nord had a touchdown pass in the first quarter from Teddy Bridgewater on Saturday in the University of Louisville's 35-7 win over Missouri State.

"I think it was almost like it was too easy," said Nord, a senior tight end, who dropped the pass on second-and-goal from the six.

"I can't believe I dropped that."

But Nord made up for it in the second quarter. With U of L a bit sluggish and leading just 11-0, Nord caught a Bridgewater pass in the right flat.

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Nord turned up field and dove as he was being tackled, reached out and stuck the ball over the goal-line for a 14-yard TD pass.

Nord's TD gave the Cardinals an 18-0 lead as they cruised past the Bears.

"It felt good," Nord said of the TD catch. "I can't believe I dropped (the first one) but that felt good. I knew I had it in there. I was surprised they reviewed it."

Nord finished with four catches for 59 yards.
