"Yeah, they're the leader," Jones told Cardinal Authority on Sunday night. It was a really good trip. I like everything about it."
The 5-foot-10 Jones, a former top-50 prospect when he was in high school, has already visited Oklahoma State and is expected to visit Florida State and Kansas.
But the former Tennessee signee said the Cardinals will be hard to beat.
"The facilities and the players and the coaches were all great," Jones said. "Playing for a Hall of Fame coach would be great. It was just all really cool."
Jones said he also has a close relationship with current U of L player Kevin Ware, who was also committed to Tennessee at the same time Jones was headed there. Both backed out of the commitment after the coaching change at Tennessee.
"Kevin told me I needed to come there and play with him," Jones said. "He's been on me about coming to Louisville, telling me how much he likes it."
Jones averaged 18 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists a game last season at NW Florida State College and helped the team to a National Junior College Athletic Association runner-up finish as a freshman.
