Basketball recruiting: U of L to visit Agau

The University of Louisville basketball staff has three commitments in the Class of 2013 but the Cardinals are not finished. Here are a few updates on several '13 prospects and some potential younger targets:

Omaha, Neb., senior forward Akoy Agau made his official visit to the University of Louisville last weekend and has said he enjoyed the trip.

On Wednesday afternoon, Agau will host U of L coach Rick Pitino and assistant coach Kareem Richardson on an in-home visit.

The 6-foot-9, 235-pound Agau is a native of Sudan and has helped Omaha Central High School to three consecutive state titles.

Pitino was on the road to see several targets last week, but it's likely that Agau is the only '13 prospect the head coach will visit this week.

Agau at this time is expected to visit Georgetown on Oct. 12 and West Virginia at some point. He's also looking at several other schools.

Louisville is also still in the mix for Hampton, Va., wing Troy Williams and could get a visit later this fall from the top-50 prospect.

Williams told Fox SportsNEXT national analyst Evan Daniels that he will make a visit to North Carolina for the school's midnight madness next month.

The 6-foot-6 Williams, the nephew of legendary AAU figure Boo Williams, said Louisville, Arkansas, Alabama, Indiana and Ohio State are also in the mix.

Pitino and assistant coach Kevin Keatts went to Oak Hill Academy last week to visit with Williams and watch him workout.

Williams told Daniels he could wait until the spring to make a decision.

Work on the Class of 2014 is also underway by the staff. U of L already has Ballard High School point guard Quentin Snider committed in that class.

But already this week, the staff has been to see several top '14 stars.

On Monday, Keatts went to Evansville to watch Bosse High School guard Jaquan Lyle, who has been to the U of L campus several times.

On Tuesday, Richardson was in Illinois and watched Normal High School forward Keita Bates-Diop. The Cardinals also were in Orlando, Fla., watching Orlando Christian Prep combo guard Adonys Henriquez.

The staff will be out watching others this week. Cardinal Authority will keep you up-to-date on all of the movements.

With the addition of Chris Jones on Monday, the Cardinals now have three commitments in the Class of 2013.

Hargrave Academy guards Terry Rozier and Anton Gill are also both committed and expected to ink with the Cardinals in November.

It's likely the staff takes just one more player.

Other guys the Cardinals are still actively after, besides Agau and Williams are Louisiana forward Jarrell Martin, California big man Marcus Lee and a little with Memphis guard JaJuan Johnson and center Joel Embiid.
