Huge weekend for Louisville sports

It's going to be quite a busy weekend around the University of Louisville sports landscape. The U of L football team travels to take on Pittsburgh in the Big East Conference opener and the basketball team opens practice. Cardinal Authority will have all of the coverage from both events.

It will be a super Saturday for University of Louisville fans.

The Cardinals will have a huge game on the road in football and will open the basketball season with a scrimmage at the KFC Yum! Center.

U of L is 5-0 and ranked No. 18 in the Associated Press poll heading into Saturday's 11 a.m. football game at Pittsburgh. The Panthers (2-3) have won four games in a row in the series.

The game is the first Big East Conference game of the season for the Cardinals, who were the preseason picks to win the league.

The game will be televised on ESPNU.

On the basketball scene, the season started on Friday with a practice in the evening.
