Louisville now involved with Houston post

One of the top prospects at the John Lucas Camp last weekend - Khadeem Lattin – is just starting to learn more about the University of Louisville. But the Cardinals are in the mix for the 6-foot-9 Class of 2014 star from Houston.

Add the name of Khadeem Lattin to the list of prospects the University of Louisville basketball staff is courting in the Class of 2014.

The 6-foot-9 Lattin, a native of Houston, said over the weekend during the John Lucas Camp that the Cardinals have started to show a lot of interest.

"It's like we are just starting to shake hands," Lattin said. "They want to get me to see a game and the atmosphere and see what it's all like.

"We're just going to get to know one another more."

Lattin ranks as the No. 54 player in the Fox SportsNEXT.com rankings in the '14 class and is tabbed as the No. 6 post player.

He made a strange move last year, transferring to the Canarias Basketball Academy in Spain to further his development. Lattin is now back in the states and said he will attend high school in Houston this season.

Lattin came back in the spring with a better skill set.

"I have improved so much it's crazy," he said. "Last month to this month, last year to this year, it's been a steady incline and I hope it continues.

"My shooting has improved a lot. I am actually a threat to shoot it now."

Lattin has a bunch of schools after him and said at this point Arizona, Georgetown, Baylor and Oklahoma are his leaders (in no order).

"It's getting kind of crazy," he said. "A lot of schools are calling, so (the list) changes a lot when other schools call."

Lattin said he would "keep talking" to the U of L coaches.

Lattin said he wanted to visit U of L during his time at the Lucas Camp but couldn't because of NCAA rules with the camp in town.
