University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino called his team's effort in a third intrasquad scrimmage in three weeks "the best we have looked."

Peyton Siva, Gorgui Dieng, Russ Smith and Luke Hancock teamed up to lead the Red team to an 87-74 victory before 7,447 fans at the KFC Yum! Center.

"I thought it was the best we have looked offensively," Pitino said. "Peyton and Russ were terrific at distributing the basketball. I knew the Red team wasn't going to win because Gorgui (Dieng) picked up the defense."

Hancock led the team with 18 points, six steals and five assists, while Dieng added 17 points, 14 rebounds, six steals and four blocked shots. Smith was 8 of 19 from the field and added 17 points.

Siva had 16 points and eight assists on 5 of 14 from the field with just one turnovers and Pitino said he's "playing great basketball."

Sophomore Wayne Blackshear showed a lot of improvement from last week and led the Red team with 18 points. He was 6 of 10 from the field, including 4 of 5 three-pointers, along with three rebounds.

"He's not the same player I saw in high school but he will be," Pitino said of Blackshear, who missed most of last season with a shoulder injury.
