After going 8-0 for only the third time in school history, the University of Louisville football team is earning some national respect.
The Cardinals jumped to No. 10 in the BCS standings, raising six spots from the previous weeks rankings.
U of L is now ranked No. 10 by the USA Today Coaches poll and checks in at No. 12 in the Associated Press poll. The Harris Interactive poll also has the Cardinals ranked as the No. 10 team in the country.
The Cardinals are 8-0 overall and 3-0 in Big East play.
"It's nice to be undefeated and we still haven't played our best for a full game," wide receiver Damian Copeland said.
The Big East recognized Teddy Bridgewater as the conference Offensive Player of the Week and linebacker Preston Brown as the defensive Player of the Week.
Bridgewater threw for a career-high 416 yards with two fourth-quarter touchdowns in a 34-31 overtime win against Cincinnati on Friday. He completed passes to seven different receivers and has now completed 70.7 percent of his passes this season and has 13 TD passes.
Brown, a native of Cincinnati, registered a game-high 13 tackles and had an interception in the win over the Bearcats.
The Cardinals will host Temple on Saturday at noon.
